Breast Implant Scan

We use the latest state of the art, high-resolution portable ultrasound scanning technology. Scans are carried out at our Harley Street clinic by one of our expert Plastic Surgeons after examining you with a chaperone. This has been shown to have 80% specificity for implant rupture. The procedure takes 30 minutes and you will receive a written report of the findings of both breasts.

How Long Have You Had Your Implants?

FDA guidelines recommend that from year 5 onwards patients should have a scan to check for implant rupture, and a repeat scan every 2-3 years. At Breast Implant Solutions, one of our consultant Plastic Surgeons will perform your ultrasound scan to identify implant rupture or confirm your breast implants are intact.

If you are worried there may be a problem with your implants a scan is a simple way to put your mind at rest. We will show you your images in real time and identify the implant shell, and email a written report the same day.

If you have no issues with your implants then you do not require a scan at this stage.
